The settlement follows a September 2026 federal court ruling in favor of United Therapeutics regarding two patent infringement claims related to the use of inhaled treprostinil for PH-ILD. No safety concerns were raised.
Under the agreement, Liquidia has submitted a supplemental application to the FDA requesting removal of the PH-ILD indication from Yutrepia’s label and has discontinued marketing Yutrepia for PH-ILD. Yutrepia will remain available for pulmonary arterial hypertension. UT’s Tyvaso and Tyvaso DPI remain FDA-approved treatment options for PH-ILD and PAH.
Both companies have stated their commitment to supporting uninterrupted access to therapy and continuity of care for patients currently receiving treatment for PH-ILD. The settlement agreement does not require any patients to transition therapies.
Patients with questions about their treatment, insurance coverage or available assistance programs should contact their healthcare provider.
