PHA 2024 Attendees Show How They’re ‘Stronger Together’ PHA2024_Wrapup_wide

The Pulmonary Hypertension Association’s biannual conference returns to Dallas June 11-14 for a weekend of celebration, education, empowerment and good old Texas fun.

Themed “PHixin’ to Find a Cure,” PHA 2026 International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions will bring more than 1,100 members of the pulmonary hypertension community to the Sheraton Dallas Hotel. This year’s conference theme, created by Diane Dauwalder, takes a unique Texas spin on the progress toward and hope for a cure.

Registration opens Monday, March 2, with early bird rates available through Monday, April 13. Make sure your PHA membership is up to date to receive discounted member rates and apply for scholarships to further reduce conference costs. PHA community memberships are now free for all people with PH, caregivers and families, making it even easier to receive the best rates for PHA conference registration.

Conference highlights

No PHA conference is complete without a few signature sessions and events. Returning favorites the medical update and Outstanding Member Awards dinners for all attendees, patient-focused breakout sessions, support groups and Saturday night party and fashion show.

The Journeys Lunch and community engagement activities return with a twist. This year’s Journeys Lunch will focus on the stories of four people with PH and their careers, rather than patient-health care professional teams. Ranging from early career to retiree, speakers will share how they manage life with PH while balancing their jobs.

This year’s closing session will feature author and educator Kristen Eccelston, who specializes in neuroscience research, education and human performance. The session will address the brain’s response to chronic health stress and offer practical tips and strategies to manage anxiety. Jeffrey Lauzon, clinical psychologist, Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, will moderate the session. Lauzon previously spoke at PHA’s PHPN Symposium in 2025 and 2023.

For this year’s community engagement activities, attendees can assemble “hope bags” of hygiene kits, socks, other necessities and an inspirational card. Hope bags will be delivered to organizations that served unhoused people in Dallas and surrounding areas.

Before or after filling hope bags, attendees can show off their creativity by making artwork from PHA-provided supplies. All artwork will be displayed on the conference Wall of Hope and Remembrance, which memorializes people who have died from PH and shares hopeful messages for a world without PH.

In the exhibit hall, visit with exhibitors, snuggle a furry friend in the conference “puppy park,” consult a certified lipsologist who interprets impressions of lips, and meet PHA staff in the PHA hub.

Your chance for connection

You asked, and PHA listened. PHA 2026 includes new social activities, giving you more opportunities to reconnect with old friends and make new connections. Check out one or more of these gatherings:

  • Newly Diagnosed and First Time Attendee Mixer
  • Parents and Families Mixer
  • Young Adults with PH Mixer (ages 18-39)
  • LGBTQ+ Mixer

Scientific Sessions

Themed “Dawning of a New Era,” the PHA 2026 Scientific Sessions will highlight advancements in PH treatment and care making their way into clinical practice, including the integration of newly approved therapies and remote monitoring or wearable technology. Medical professionals can earn up to 23 hours of continuing medical/continuing education credit in 20 scientific sessions.

The Scientific Sessions begin Thursday, June 11, with the unopposed research poster hall. If you have groundbreaking PH research or clinical projects to share, submit a late-breaking abstract proposal by Monday, March 16.

In addition to the returning PH Professional Network and Early Career and Fellows receptions, professionals can attend our first Innovation Forum. The forum will bring together investors, industry leaders and medical professionals for discissions on the future of PH care. Early-stage companies will present their findings “shark-tank” style, sharing how they are changing the future of PH.
